All the numbers listed are the minimum numbers you can have to essentially become draft proof. If you have even 1 or 2 less you will get drafted.

I say it tells you what they can’t draft; any more or less can be drafted.
Now to the numbers you will need to work a defense in one city/HC.
1st the layers: Warriors 1000
Pikes -1000
Swords -1000
Rams - 200
and yes I consider the rams now layer to
2nd defensive troops
Archers -3,200,000
Cataphract- 100,000
Ballista-220,000
Now to the numbers you will need in your support city to a HC
The layers:
Warriors - 100,000
Pikes -100.000
Swords -100,000
Rams - 2,000
Working the defense
1st the layers:
Warriors - 50
Pikes - 50
Swords - 50
Rams -200
When under attack send your layers out with camp time of 1h 50 each of warriors, swords and pikes. Send 7 – 8 of those waves out to a nearby valley, the rest of the layers send out with a camp time of 2h so you have it easy to know what wave you need to recall, replacing the lost layers.
You will need a minimum of layers in you city to lower your overall loses.
2nd defensive troops
Archers -3,200,000
Cataphract - 100,000
Ballista- 220,000
Now it gets tricky.
Mounted troops will respond 1st on any attacks.
So if a normal archer/rainbow waves is inbound you need to move all mounted out, you archer, ballista and layers will handle those with low loses, just keep resupplying the layers from the waves you sent out with camp time of 1h.
On a cataphract wave you will need all cataqhracts you have.
On a ballista wave you will need the rams and a few mounted troops like 100.
And now on top of all this ‘The Wall’
Traps - 1,000
Abatis-10,000
AT’s-8,000
Logs - 200
Trebs - 200
Your wall has to be always maxed out
Rebuild your wall all the time; even ‘one’ type will help big time in the defense
